To all my friends Karen and I lost Harper on Friday. We had him for such a short time, but he burned so bright in our hearts. We fill very blessed to have had our little guy. We miss him very much. For those of you that knew already thanks for your cards and words of encouragement. Karen and I are very appreciative.

Hope you all had a great Holiday week. The staff and I were very busy, we had 4 catering jobs, lots of Ribs & Pulled Pork. Still putting the finishing touches on the new Menus hope to have it complete for the new cleanup-fixup. Lots of new things again hope you’re hungry.

New shirts are in and they are going fast. We have all sizes and colors. We were miss shipped on some ladies tank tops so we are having a special sale on those be warned they run large.  Also we are for the first time selling the “Grill God” cook shirts so if you are interested now is the time.

Well by the time you get this email, good things will have happened. The duct work was delivered Monday and installed last Tuesday after work. The A/C unit was next. Then it should have been Cool Breezes!!! by the weekend.

But, as usual, a snag, they sent us the wrong thermostat and then the rain storm Saturday. We now have all the parts!

AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE CONDITIONED AIR! HALLELUJAH!!!! And man, it is nice in here.

I will still be looking to upgrade our paint scheme and paint the restaurant. The staff wants me to have a contest to choose colors but I don’t know if we have enough time. I want to get this done as soon as possible. Any suggestions for colors, please email me ASAP!

It still amazes me how many people don’t know we cater. We had five graduation parties last week. We are getting booked up with parties so if you are looking for a caterer you better contact us A.S.A.P.

For those of you who know what it is “James Browns Rib Fest” not the one up on the lake. Yes, it was awesome as usual, even if I do say so myself. Saw lots of friends old and new. This event is older than the restaurant so don’t feel bad if you‘re a customer and you weren’t there. JBP’s fame just keeps rolling on, as I sit here typing on Wednesday afternoon there is a film crew setting up upstairs to shoot a movie. It’s the thesis for a Columbia University film Student named Kelvin Rush. The Name of the Movie Is “Urn” Like what you are placed in once you’re cremated. More info about it when I get it.

Well we are starting the air conditioning install next week. I thought we would have it done before the 80 and 90 degree days, So much for that.

As I stated last week, it’s starting to get warm and we are starting to plan our outside set up. So before you start to ask “when, when, when”, it all depends on the “Wind”. We can’t set up until the winds have quelled enough so that they wont blow over the tables and umbrellas.  In other words don’t ask, I’m not the weather man.

As always, don’t forget too come in for our Friday Night Fish Fry Bash. Not really a bash, but lots of new faces and lots of new friends.  We are B.Y.O.B. so if you bring the bottle, I supply the glass. A bit of sad news this week a good friend of the James Brown’s Place family, Andrea Pincus,  Lost her mother, Ruth Pincus to cancer.  Mrs. Pincus was a wonderful and charming lady that I could always depend on when I was stuck on a crossword puzzle. I will miss you Mrs. “P”
